I told myself to be into places where people are unlikely to go. I just want the idea that there are so much more to explore in this world.
Just a brief background, Aparri is located in the northeastern part the Philippines and is one of the municipalities of Cagayan Province. In my surprise, this place is way too far from what I thought it was. Hotels, Parks, Universities, Night life are all present and people here are actually living much better than most of those in the Metro.
Getting here is easy if you’re travelling by air. In our case, bad weather condition welcomes our flight. It was cancelled and we’ve decided to go by land that took us 13 hours from NAIA Terminal 3 to Las Palmas de San Jose Leisure Club where we spent the rest of the night. To find this place, just ride a tricy (local term for tricycle) for Php 10.00 from the airport or from the bus terminal in Tuguegarao.
I booked this for 1 night thru Agoda.com for Php 2,859.23 which is already good for 6 persons. The place is spacious, well maintained and it’s like we’ve just rented a residential house. Take a look on my shots and you might consider this in the future.

After checking out at 12nn, we get ourselves ready for another 2 hours of land travel from Tuguegarao to Hotel Dian in Aparri via van for Php 100 per head. Just tell the driver to drop you off in “Hotel Dian”. I booked this place via Agoda.com for Php 5,040.00 which is already good for 3 days/2 nights with free breakfast for 2. Take a look on my shots and you might consider this again in the future.
We were accommodated by Paliuanan Family during dinner time. So kind of them that they’ve prepared so much for this. Thank you so much!

We started late morning and this is the only time we get the chance to see the beauty of this remote town.
This is “where the river meets the sea”. They said that before the mining activity started in this area, you can still walk in between. The left side of the picture is the river while the other side is the sea.
Getting around the town is easy, just rent a tricy to tour you around.
Chinese is indeed everywhere. Even in this remote area of Aparri you can still find a Chinese Temple.
This is a must visit! Aparri is known for their Pancit Cabagan and Ten-Ten’s is the place for that.
Another famous food to try in Aparri is their Pancit Batil Putung. It is a combination of Pancit, Pork, Liver and Fried Egg.
Other places to visit in Aparri and its neighboring town Camalaniugan.
Time and weather did not permit us to go to Babuyan Group of Islands. These are small islands up north of Cagayan Province. Anyway, April is the best month to go there.
Up until now, I’m still on a search to unfold many questions about the history of Aparri and its neighbor town Camalaniugan. Like what is the real purpose of Horno and why it has a stairs; How the Chinese people be able to move and impacted the lives of locals here? I only hear and dreaming of this place before and I am very grateful that now, I am already living that dream. Nothing really is impossible!
